ADOPT, DON'T SHOP! SPAY/NEUTER YOUR PETS! Please adopt your next pet--4 million perfectly good, lovable dogs & cats are still being euthanized every year at municipal & county shelters just for lack of space. We do NOT need amateurs letting their dog or cat to have "just a couple of litters", when every puppy or kitten you give away or sell can then go & make more! "Indoor only" pets are accidentally let out by workmen & visitors & pet sitters all the time & it can be days, weeks--or never--before they're found--how long do you think it takes for them to make another or be made pregnant?! You know what else happens when amateurs start "backyard breeding"? You end up with inbred dogs with 2 sets of teeth, or no front legs (no,I am not making this up!). Dogs in stores come from puppy mills. Period. No matter what they tell you. Reputable breeders sell directly to new owners that they have checked out. NEVER give away or sell cheap your animals on Craig's List & be VERY careful doing it locally--dog fighters get new fighters AND BAIT ANIMALS this way--any small animal will do for bait! They steal them for that too--sometimes right out of back yards! Check your local Pet Smart, or other pet supply store for cats they may have there, placed by rescues, or for upcoming adoption events or appearances by rescue groups; check with your local animal control for what they have awaiting adoption; check facebook for "animal rescue groups CT", e.g.--there are MANY.
