Milady's Rose Garden Collection - Peace (Officially - Rose Peace Hybrid Tea) in Hartford, Connecticut For Sale

Price: $20
Type: Furniture, For Sale - Private.

The listing picture is the real flower from which the sculpture was inspired. You are buying the sculpture, NOT the real flower!!!
Also, I don't have the right kind of camera and lighting to represent the actual color of the flower. The first two capture most of the yellows, and the overhead shows more of the white aspect of each pedal. It's really a combination of the two, with a white hint of pink to accent the pedals as well... closely resembling the actual flower itself.
It makes me think of the flowers you see on store bought birthday cakes (Really sweet!!! Yum!)
It's hard to read what's on the official certificate, so I've copied what is written on it as follows:
Above the Gold Stamp:

To the left of the Gold Stamp:

Below the Gold Stamp:

"Good-night; ensured release,
Imperishable peace, Have these for yours."
-A.E. Housman
Who could resist the classic beauty and understated elegance of the "Peace" rose? With its large yellow blossoms, often blended with subtle translucent pink tips, "Peace" is one of the most popular hybrids known today. The petals have such a heavy texture, that they hold their shape without drooping, so the beauty of the blossom increases as it matures. This vigorous climber is prized as much for its dark glossy foliage as it is for its flowers. In fact, many florists and gardeners often use its dense green leaves alone or in other arrangements.
Born in France during World War II, this lush flower was developed by Francis Meilland who named it for his mother. As the German army swept across France, M. Meilland smuggled some budwoods to the American council in hopes that his hybrid could be saved.
It was renamed "Peace" in honor of the framing of the constitution of the United Nations where bowls of the fragrant blossoms decorated the tables of the delegates. And on the very day that the treaty with Japan to end the war was signed, "Peace" was officially recognized by the American Rose Society.
Today, "Peace" remains a timeless favorite.
ABOUT THE REAL FLOWER ITSELF
Rich sunset tones, sweet fragrance, and perfect form combine to make this the most beloved Rose of recent generations!
Discovered in xxxx, it was named 'Peace' to mark the end of World War II!
Perhaps the finest Hybrid Tea ever introduced, 'Peace' has a history as fascinating as its appearance!
In xxxx, Meilland discovered seedling #3-35-50 and managed to send it to the U.S. on the last plane to leave France for America before war broke out. The day that Berlin fell, it was given its auspicious name.
Each petal on the heavy, substantive 5- to 6-inch double blooms is a soft yellow edged with pink that deepens and spreads with maturity. The petals unfold slowly around a high pointed center and are borne on heavy, strong, straight stems.
Flower production is unbelievably lavish, and the blooms last a remarkably long time, both on the plant and when cut. Reaches 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Truly the one Rose to plant!
