Price: $20
Type: Music instruments, For Sale - Private.

To all aspiring musicians:
My name is Dale Baldwin and I am a professional composer, conductor, clinician, musician, and certified private teacher from West Hartford, CT. I graduated from the University of Connecticut (Storrs) music program, where I studied for five years and ultimately received a Bachelor's Degree in Percussion. I now and will always believe that there is a powerful quality in music; it is an art form that everyone in the world can understand and relate to, a universal language that transcends cultural boundaries and unites peoples of all ages, genders, races, and beliefs. This is why I am offering to teach private music lessons throughout Hartford County.
I work as the educational representative, online sales manager, and faculty member for JC Music in Meriden, CT. As an educational representative, I service the school music programs in over 20 Connecticut cities and provide assistance with their rental, repair, and purchase order needs. I have three studios in Meriden, Hamden, and North Haven as I also serve as the primary music teacher at the Hamden Academy of Dance and Music as well as a private teacher at The Music Center in North Haven. My students range from ages 4 and up, and all have shown significant improvement from the start of their first lesson to present day.
I also hold a freelance job on the side as a composer for Ear Goo, Inc. in New York City, where I write instrumental music for film, television, video games, promotional trailers, and advertisements. Universal Studios, MTV, Mercedes-Benz, and Coca-Cola are some of the many clients I write for, and I receive quarterly royalties from Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI), a famous performing rights organization that also represents artists such as Eminem, Rihanna, and The Black Keys. I have performed live on stage as a soloist at the Shubert Theater in New Haven, given instrumental and composition recitals to showcase my works, and I have given public lectures on the importance of maintaining music in the school curriculum as well as proper technique and care of mallet percussion instruments.
Additionally, I am an annual percussion judge for the Connecticut Regional Music Festivals and the All-State Festivals, adjudicating marimba, snare drum, and timpani. With all the knowledge and experience I have accumulated thus far, I firmly believe I am capable of strengthening the musical abilities of your student or child to a high degree, and to each and every student, teacher, and parent, I guarantee a noticeable improvement.
I am available to teach the following:
Piano or Keyboard
Acoustic or Electric Guitar
Drum Set (3-piece or 5-piece)
Concert Percussion (Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Timpani, and/or Aux. Percussion)
Marching Percussion (Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Tenor Drums, and/or Cymbals)
Mallet Percussion (Bell Kit, Xylophone, Marimba, and/or Vibraphone)
Composition
Music Theory
My pay rate is as follows:
30 minutes - $20.00
60 minutes - $35.00
Please note: the parent, student, and/or child MUST provide appropriate instrument to receive a musical lesson for it. For example, if you wish to take a Mallet Percussion lesson, you MUST have a mallet percussion instrument in your home!
I am available most days, but lessons are by appointment only. Just let me know three (3) separate dates and times that work for you and/or your child, in order of preference, and I certainly should be available for at least one of those days/times. I am also extremely flexible: a parent, student, and/or child may schedule and reschedule lessons with me at any time with zero hassle. I can also mix half hour lessons (i.e. for a Full Hour session, I can do a Half Hour of Timpani and a Half Hour of Guitar, etc.) My goal is to not have any one of my potential clients worried, stressed, or aggravated about lessons, which are supposed to be interesting, exciting, and fun!
I am more than willing to provide a formal resume upon request, as well as my composer's web site. When you contact me, just let me know which e-mail would be best to send it to. I am willing to answer all questions and address all comments.
Thank you very much for your time, and I look forward to your reply!
Sincerely,
Dale Baldwin
