Summary: Product Analytics and Innovation is looking for someone with 4 + years of relevant actuarial experience who is an associate (or near-associate) of the Casualty Actuarial Society. This role involves working across many lines of business to manage and support the filed rating plans as well as supporting the Workers Compensation line in other respects. The role extends across the entire enterprise and has involvement with many different disciplines across Travelers. It affords you the opportunity to establish relationships with the field, pricing managers, regional and lead business unit actuaries, enterprise product, regulatory, systems personnel and compliance areas. Primary Duties: - Develop and implement rates, rating plans, and pricing strategies across all lines of business to achieve the company objectives for profitability and growth. - Manage or participate in key workers compensation projects for the enterprise. - Monitor marketplace, industry trends, and professional research to maintain knowledge of current activities related to products, regulations, and market conditions. - Represent actuarial on key workers compensation projects across the enterprise. - Review workers compensation legislation to determine the rate impact upon the state workers compensation system. - Recommend and initiate improved actuarial techniques on unit work products. Candidate Requirements: - Associate (or near Associate) of the Casualty Actuarial Society. - 4 + years of relevant actuarial experience. - Excellent negotiation and problem solving skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to explain actuarial work to other disciplines. - Excellent organizational skills. - Ability to creatively solve problems. - College degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related field. - Experience at an advanced level with MS Office/Excel/Access and VBA. Candidate Preferences: - Experience in Commercial Lines pricing a plus. This position can be filledin either Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN.
