WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION?
The Real Estate Industry Manager position is responsible for managing our appetite, underwriting guidance and product solutions for the Real Estate industry vertical within the Middle Market segment. The job functions include:

Developing deep underwriting and coverage expertise for theReal Estateindustry and translating that into guidance and support for our field partners in order to drive business development strategies
*
Providing guidance internally and externally on individual account decisions and/or book of business issues (risk selection, point of sale consultation, competitive analysis)
*
Managing and responding to trends within our book of business (growth, pricing, profit, emerging risks) and developing appropriate solutions to ensure profitability within each industry. Aggregating feedback from field interactions as input into the overall strategic plan for each industry.

Executing on product agenda, appetite expansion and profit improvement initiatives
*
Maintaining and creating relevant underwriting guidance and training
*
Championing business development strategies as part of the overall strategic agenda to shape our industry portfolio
* Coordinating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
*
Bachelors Degree required; CPCU or other industry designation preferred
*
7 years underwriting experience in P&C insurance industry required; multi-line underwriting experience preferred
*
Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership
*
Demonstrated client relationship management skills and influencing skills
*
Ability to build strong relationships across an organization
*
Self starter with little need for constant supervision
*
Drive and commitment to do what is necessary to get the job done efficiently, thoroughly and professionally.
*
Financial acumen - strong analytical skills and aptitude for numerical and/or financial evaluation of business performance
*
Excellent communication skills. Experience and comfort level communicating with individuals at all levels
*
Proven track record of setting goals and delivering results
*
Strong project management skills
