SUMMARY:
The Property Product Director plays an important role in Select Product & Underwriting. This individual ensures thorough and timely completion of Master Pac and Pac Plus (BOP) projects. The Property Product Director monitors and researches ways to improve upon the current product and platform, based on emerging issues, the needs of the field, and the overall competitive landscape. This individual will participate in projects for all lines included in our MasterPac product offering - General Liability, Specialty GL and Property and Inland Marine.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* This individual will actively participate in the development and implementation of policy forms and endorsements, underwriting guidelines, new segments and program code classifications. They will provide input and analysis for underwriting manuals and bulletins, competitive information, segment underwriting reviews, I.T. business requirements, compliance/regulatory changes and other duties.
* Recommends property product design and development/implementation schedules.
* Provide documentation support for Product & Underwriting, coverage, filing materials, compliance, pricing and systems support.
* Complete special projects as assigned for the Master Pac and Pac Plus products in conjunction with Home Office Underwriting, Operations, Sales & Marketing and Actuarial. * Ensure the timely and thorough completion of property product related projects and platform automation enhancements.
* Create industry leading property product capabilities increasing speed and ease of doing business with Travelers while maintaining underwriting and product integrity.
* Develop and maintain MasterPac property strategies for thirteen industry segments including coverage, class appetite, and eligibility.
* Develop new industry segments and property products in support of appetite expansion and changing industry trends.
* Liaison with Enterprise Property with respect to property issues.
* Support development and maintenance of automated underwriting platform through design of business rules and product configuration.
* Identify, develop and deliver Master Pac Property training in collaboration with Select Underwriting. This includes mentoring new members of the Master Pac team and others in Select Product & Underwriting.
* Provide property expertise to the field offices, service centers and home office with respect to product and/or platform issues capabilities.
* Ensure compliance with state regulations. Maintain form and rates for property line of business. This includes initial form and rate filings as well as subsequent related responses to Insurance Departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum 5 years Commercial Lines/Business Insurance experience.
* College Degree or equivalent experience.
* Able topresent or train in a classroom setting.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and navigating in the internet.
* Consistently set clear direction for self and team by defining goals and priorities.
* Takes responsibility for decisions and actions.
* Possess exceptional organizational, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, interpersonal, time management, verbal and written communication skills.
* CPCU or similar insurance designations a plus.
