DESCRIPTION:
**This position will focus on the northeast Territory which includes the following states: NY, NH, VT, MA, ME, RI, CT, PA and NJ. It is preferred that applicants should reside in or near this territory as there will be travel within this territory.**
We are looking for a subject matter expert and technical specialist in Property, Fire Protection and Risk Management Consultation. Candidate must have advanced knowledge of property and fire exposures combined with the engineering skills appropriate for controlling these exposures to minimize the potential for loss.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluation of large property accounts (>$80 million TIV) requiring onsite surveys;
evaluation of exposures and controls; identification of deficiencies; clear explanation of required corrective actions; communication of practical recommendations to underwriting, insured and agents; professional, productive and consultative client visits and correspondence; field staff training, mentoring; quality assurance and underwriting technical support. Job requires travel for client site surveys, staff co-travels and regional office consultation and training support (estimate 30-50%).

Advanced property site inspection
Fire Pump analysis
Water supply analysis
Non-water based suppression systems analysis
C.O.P.E. issues not otherwise listed
Technical writing and research skills
Present at NFPA Conferences
Produce and present Webinars and Podcasts

QUALIFICATIONS:
*
-Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited Engineering Program
*
-PE or Fire Protection Engineer strongly preferred
*
-Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) designation desired
*
-Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred
*
-8 years Loss Control and/or insurance experience, Property line of business and related exposures and controls
*
-Qualified in Automatic Sprinkler plan review
*
-Familiarity with and application of Marshall Swift Boeckh Property Evaluation (Costimator) preferred
*
-Skilled and experienced in onsite property inspections and consultations
*
-Above average communication skills (oral, written, visual)
*
-Ability to influence and motivate others
*
-Skilled and experienced in both live and virtual classroom training
*
-Proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word
*
-Experience in producing and presenting Webinars and Podcasts, writing and publishing technical articles
*
-Experience presenting at Business Industry Groups and Associations
