The P&C actuarial team works with [re]insurers, regulators, captives, risk retention groups and companies that self-insure a portion of their claims liabilities. The scope of work for a P&C actuarial engagement could vary from actuarial reserve analyses, statements of actuarial opinion, audit support reviews, pricing studies, expertise for mergers and acquisitions, capital and solvency modeling, risk retention analyses, actuarial processes and controls evaluations, etc. These projects typically span a wide range of insurance products and loss exposures including auto liability, workers compensation, product liability, general liability, homeowners, commercial property, medical professional liability, warranty, ocean marine, specialty lines, asbestos and environmental, construction defects, and catastrophes. Given the vast array of P&C actuarial services that we provide to our clients in the US and across the world, and the strategic value of our US India professionals, we are looking for a Senior Manager to lead the P&C actuarial practice for our US India offices. Job description · Senior Manager in the Actuarial, Risk & Advanced Analytics (ARAA) Property & Casualty Actuarial group within U.S. India Deloitte Consulting India Private Limited. · Work to commence in the US with job ultimately relocating to India, based in either Hyderabad or Gurgaon (Delhi) The key job responsibilities include the following: · Grow and develop the Property & Casualty (P&C) Actuarial team in India to deliver consistently high-quality deliverables and communications · Provide engagement management and quality assurance reserve reviews for a variety of P&C insurance and self-insured audit and consulting clients, spanning many different personal/commercial/specialty lines of business. May also need to provide expertise in other potential actuarial projects such as pricing, reinsurance, capital and solvency modeling, etc. · Build local Indian and other global networks (both internal and external) in an effort to generate new and add-on sales related to P&C actuarial services · Collaborate extensively with our U.S. and India resource managers to assess project pipeline, assess staff availability and skills, and build staffing plans for the P&C Actuarial team in India · Work with other ARAA, Human Capital, and Advisory leadership to manage the performance of our business, including client utilization, headcount, expenses, unbilled hours, actuarial exams, internal investments, on-shore staffing, etc. · Develop both external and internal eminence related to actuarial or broader insurance knowledge and skills · Periodic trips to the US for client delivery, training, and relationship building · Manage seasonality of client workload; peak hours typically occur in the months of October-November and January-March The key skills requiredare as follows: · At least 12 years of P&C actuarial related experience · Bachelor's Degree or higher · Affiliation with the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) with either an ACAS or FCAS designation.
